Venture to Capers Island Heritage Preserve, a pristine barrier island only reachable by boat that is just north of Charleston, South Carolina. We will cruise through winding tidal creeks to find diverse wildlife living in this salt marsh ecosystem. Your naturalist guide will explain all about our local ecology and wildlife encountered along the way. Common sightings include bottlenose dolphins, bald eagles, and numerous shore and wading birds.

Along the way we’ll employ nets and traps for an up-close look at some of the marine life that thrives below the surface. As you arrive on the island, you are free to explore its astounding natural landscape, “Boneyard Beach” and interior trails and ponds.
